PORT MANN BRIDGE
For anglers travelling from Vancouver, Maquabeak Park near the Port Mann Bridge offers the closest departure point for sturgeon fishing. This area offers great year-round sturgeon fishing opportunities and fishing grounds are only a few minutes from the boat launch. If you’re interested in doing a sturgeon trip close to the Vancouver area, than this departure point is the best option for you.

Derby Reach Departure Point
Derby Reach Regional Park & Campground is a convenient departure point that we use at specific times of the year, and it’s an ideal pick-up location for anyone who has a camper/motorhome since there is a campground right on the Fraser River. While it is NOT an actual boat launch, it’s a great departure point that gives us access to miles of productive sturgeon fishing water. This departure point is located in Langley, on the south side of the Fraser River, a few miles downstream from the Fort Langley Boat Launch.

FORT LANGLEY
Located at the top of Church Street, this municipal park provides a great boat launch for guests looking to launch out of Fort Langley. This is the half way point between Vancouver and Chilliwack, and is approximately a 45min drive east from Vancouver’s downtown core. There are plenty of great sturgeon fishing opportunities in this area, especially during the spring and fall months. This departure point is convenient for people who are staying on the south side of the Fraser River, and is close to Langley, Surrey, Aldergrove, and Abbotsford.

Barrowtown Boat Launch
While not one of our primary launching locations, the Barrowtown boat launch is a convenient departure point that we sometimes use for logistical reasons. Located on the south side of the Fraser river in the Sumas Canal itself, about halfway between Mission and Chilliwack, it gives us quick access to both salmon and sturgeon fishing grounds. We use this departure point at specific times of the year when launching conditions are favourable. In comparison to the Chilliwack boat launch, this departure point can trim up to 25 minutes off your drive if driving east from Vancouver.

HOPE
Launching out of Hope allows our guests to access a very scenic portion of the Fraser River. This is the beginning of the Fraser Canyon, an area that offers a truly unique sturgeon fishery.
